Role Summary

Bitcot is seeking a highly experienced Data & AI Platform Architect to help define and guide the enterprise data, AI, and knowledge management strategy with a leading healthcare organization. This individual will operate at an architecture and strategy level, partnering with executive leadership to establish scalable patterns, reference architectures, governance frameworks, and operating models that support thousands of future AI agents and data products across the enterprise.

This is not a hands-on engineer or single project architect role. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience designing and governing large-scale data ecosystems spanning cloud, on-premises, AI/ML, knowledge graphs, metadata management, and enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise Data & AI Platform strategy aligned to organizational goals and future AI initiatives.
• Design scalable architecture patterns for AI agents, data products, knowledge systems, and enterprise data services.
• Establish reusable frameworks, standards, and reference architectures that can be adopted across multiple teams and business domains.
• Guide the evolution of the organization's data fabric, metadata, governance, and interoperability strategy.
• Provide architectural leadership across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop strategies for integrating structured, unstructured, clinical, research, and operational data assets.
• Advise on knowledge graph, ontology, semantic layer, vector store, and metadata platform architectures.
• Partner with engineering, data science, governance, and product teams to ensure alignment between strategy and implementation.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and establish patterns for scalable, governed adoption of generative AI and agentic systems.
• Mentor architects and engineering teams on enterprise architecture best practices.

Desired Experience

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, platform architecture, or technology strategy.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms supporting multiple business domains and large data ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and modern data platforms.
• Experience with Data Fabric, Data Mesh, Data Products, Metadata Management, and Data Governance.
• Familiarity with Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, Semantic Technologies, and AI-enabled knowledge systems.
• Experience supporting AI/ML platforms, Generative AI, Agentic AI, vector stores, and retrieval architectures.
• Healthcare, life sciences, research, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive strategic decisions.

Ideal Candidate

A strategic architect who thinks beyond individual datasets, applications, or agents and can design the enterprise ecosystem, governance model, and reusable patterns needed to scale AI, data, and knowledge capabilities across the organization.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
