Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Precision Federal builds AI and machine learning systems for U.S. federal agencies through the SBIR research program. We are hiring our Principal Machine Learning Engineer ahead of contract awards: with your written consent, you are named on our federal proposals now, and paid W-2 employment begins when a contract is funded.

The work: design and build data pipelines, model training workflows, evaluation benchmarks, and working prototype applications for defense and civilian programs. You work directly with the founder, roughly 10 to 15 hours per week per active contract, fully remote, growing toward full time as the contract base expands.

Requirements: 8 or more years of production software experience with shipped machine learning systems; strong Python; cloud deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure; U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. Defense experience, a prior security clearance, or military service are each a plus.

Pay is 85 to 90 dollars per hour, W-2, agreed in writing before you are named on any proposal. Until a contract funds there is no work and no obligation.
