Our client is seeking a Gen AI Product Owner / Product Manager to lead product development and delivery initiatives within its Customer Operations AI team. This individual will own the product backlog, prioritize business use cases, gather requirements, and work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver AI-driven solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong Product Owner/Product Manager experience, a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder relationships. Experience with Generative AI, conversational AI, or intelligent automation is highly preferred, along with a background in enterprise transformation and technology modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog, including intake, prioritization, and sequencing of use cases based on business value, feasibility, and risk.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for technical development teams.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, operations leadership, and technical teams to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
• Lead Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Manage product development from initial discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, release, and adoption.
• Establish measurable success criteria for product initiatives, including operational efficiency, accuracy, customer experience, and user adoption.
• Track and communicate sprint progress, team velocity, project milestones, and delivery risks to stakeholders and leadership.
• Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or similar Agile project management tools to maintain backlog transparency and track development progress.
• Partner with technical teams to incorporate responsible AI practices, governance requirements, evaluation criteria, and appropriate controls into product delivery.
• Support change management, user training, product rollout, and adoption initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful execution of product initiatives.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and project documentation for executive leadership and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve product development processes, governance, and overall program efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10 + years of relevant experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or Agile product delivery.
• Proven experience managing Agile product development teams and delivering technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and/or SAFe.
• Experience with product backlog management, roadmap planning, requirements gathering, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile tracking tools.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and enterprise technology delivery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations and documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience coordinating or managing employees, contractors, or technical delivery teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Generative AI, conversational AI, intelligent automation, or AI-driven product development.
• Understanding of AI evaluation criteria, responsible AI practices, governance frameworks, and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Experience leading enterprise transformation, technology modernization, or digital product initiatives.
• Previous experience within utilities, telecommunications, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• Knowledge of Customer Operations processes, including contact centers, customer service, and operational workflows.
• Familiarity with vendor management and third-party technology solutions.
• SAFe, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or similar Agile certification.
