About JET CPA and LensAgent

We are building an AI-powered platform that dramatically reduces the cost and time required to perform cost segregation studies for residential and commercial real estate.

Our goal is to combine artificial intelligence, engineering principles, tax expertise, and computer vision to automate much of the traditional cost segregation process while maintaining the quality expected by engineers, CPAs, and tax professionals.

We are looking for someone who wants to help build—not simply work for—a company.

This is a founding team opportunity with meaningful equity ownership.

About the Role

We're looking for someone with deep cost segregation experience who is excited about technology and AI.

You do not need to be an AI developer. You do need to be curious, willing to experiment, and excited about helping teach AI how experienced engineers think.

You'll work directly with the founder (CPA with engineering background) and developers to design the next generation of cost segregation software.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze residential cost segregation studies from AI system
• Help build standardized methodologies for AI-assisted classifications
• Assist in creating engineering rules and decision trees
• Review AI-generated classifications for accuracy
• Help train and validate machine learning models
• Develop quality-control procedures
• Research IRS guidance and industry best practices
• Assist with product design and feature prioritization
• Collaborate on new ideas to automate portions of the cost segregation process
• Assist in general sales processes

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has several of the following:

• Experience performing cost segregation studies
• Engineering, construction, architecture, appraisal, or tax background
• Strong understanding of IRS depreciation rules
• Familiarity with cost segregation methodologies
• Comfortable reviewing photographs, blueprints, and construction information
• Interest in artificial intelligence and automation
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Self-directed and comfortable working in a startup environment

Nice to Have

• CPA
• PE license
• Construction estimating experience
• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms
• Python, SQL, or data analysis experience
• Experience building processes or documentation

Compensation

This is a founding team position and will be primarily equity compensation during the early development stage. As the company grows and secures revenue or outside funding, we intend to transition founding team members into fully compensated roles.

We're looking for someone motivated by ownership and the opportunity to build something significant.

About the Founder

JET CPA and LensAgent was founded by a CPA with a Mechanical Engineering degree and over 20 years of tax experience, focused on combining AI with engineering to make cost segregation faster, more affordable, and more accessible.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
